Learn about international business and cross cultural communications. Students study on MWSC campus during the spring semester and then travel to international cities to attend seminars presented by managers who work for companies based in the foreign country. In l999 and 200l, the course was offered simultaneously on the campuses of Missouri Western and William Jewell College in Liberty Missouri. Occasionally, selected students have an opportunity to participate in an international, communication-related conference. The course is planned to accommodate student budgets. Scholarships are also available. This four-credit course is offered in Spring semesters of odd-numbered years.

Between May 14 and 27, students in this class traveled to Germany and visited the world headquarters of Boehringer Ingelheim and Wacker Chemie. They also visited the European Central Bank, Europa Carton (part of Smurfit Stone Container Corporation), a Nestle research and development facility, and the Deutsche Borse. The trip ended with three days in Dresden (formerly part of East Germany). Eleven students from MWSC gave presentations at the European Convention, Business Communication: Europe and Globalization. Students from William Jewell College in Liberty, Missouri, were part of the class and traveled with the MWSC group.
The group also visited cultural sites in Germany, including Ludwig II's famous unfinished castle, Neuwschanstein in Fussen, Germany. The group also toured Dachau, the first German concentration camp in WW II, cruises on the Rhine and Elba Rivers, and a visit to Rothenberg, a medieval city on the famous "Romantic Road."
